If you’ve ever struggled to keep up the habit of reading the Bible, you should hear this: Studying the Bible is better with friends!
Lazarus Church Groups
In our Discipleship Groups, participants consistently tell us that the thing that has been most helpful to them is accountability. Accountability does NOT mean that if you don’t show up or you didn’t get around to reading you’re going to be in trouble. Instead, we think of accountability as positive peer pressure. When you study the Bible with friends, you’re going to want to show up and have something to share!
We also hear participants tell us that studying the Bible with friends helps them notice things that they missed when they were reading the Bible on their own. The insights that someone else shares in a group, can give us a richer and deeper understanding of God’s Word!
And finally, what we hear from participants in our Discipleship Groups is that one of the best things about being part of a group is getting to know people in the Lazarus Church family. One of the major reasons why somebody new connects to a church for more than a couple of months is finding a friend. Studying the Bible is better with friends!
